Notre Dame School, founded in 1995, is a private international type school located in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The school is accredited by the National Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic (SEE) and certified by The International Schools Association (Geneva, Switzerland), furthermore the school headmistress is member of the European Council Of International Schools (Hampshire, UK) and the Project Coordinator of the GLOBE Program for Latin America and the Caribbean.
Notre Dame School is a preparatory school and has a very competitive curriculum. Students are required to take Spanish, Latin American and Dominican Social Studies, French, and 60 hours of community service in order to meet the Dominican requirements for graduating, in addition, the ISA requirements for each student are: Language Arts (Reading, Spelling, Grammar, Literature), Science (Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Earth Science, Physical Science), Social Studies (American History, World History, Geography, Sociology), Fine Arts (Music, Theater, Dance, Choir), Remote Sensing (Reading of satellite pictures), Physical Education, Health, Computer Science, Math (Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus), GLOBE Program Protocols and  integration to International Science Projects, also students must participate in at least three (3) clubs or extracurricular activities in grades 1 through 6 and two (2) clubs or extracurricular activities from grades 7 through 12.
  
The school also offers its student body opportunities to become involved in Student Council, National Honor Society, Model United Nations in Santo Domingo, and New York, Model Organization of American States in Washington D. C., Achievers International, and the Astronomy Club, as well as community service projects that are carried out in different grade levels. 

 Notre Dame is the home of the Lion Hearts, our sports team that participates in soccer, volleyball, gymnastics, chess, marathon, table tennis and basketball. 2006/2007 was a great year for the Lion Hearts that won: the Bilingual Schools Basketball Tournament and Soccer Tournament, First Place in the National Schools Marathon (Female category), and First Place in the Chess Tournament of the National Schools League.
